For Parents

At Sylvania Anglican Church we consider our role in the youth ministry to be a for parents as much as it is for their teenage kids. For, in the Bible, in Ephesians chapter 6, verse 4, it says that fathers should bring up their children “in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Our job is to help fathers and mothers as they lead their kids through the often difficult process of puberty, as they grow from children to adults.

All our volunteer and paid leaders are hand-picked by our ministry team on the basis of their godliness and gifts. We all serve under the ‘Faithfulness in Service’ protocol for ministry in the Anglican Church of Australia, and are trained in the latest Safe Ministry procedures.

In order to help us help you, and to better care for the students, we ask that you fill in our General Permission Form and get your child to hand it to one of our leaders when they join our group. Download the form by clicking here (requires Acrobat Reader.)

Our ministry to parents doesn’t stop here. If you’re not a member of a church, we’d love you to join us one Sunday for church, or to participate in some of our other programs. Find out more by visiting our main Sylvania Anglican Church website, or by contacting Paul Sampson, our Senior Minister on paul@sylvaniaanglican.org or calling (02) 9544-7186 or 0413 347 678.

Feel free also to contact Jodie McNeill (our youth minister) or any of our leaders to discuss how we can serve you and your teenagers in our youth ministry. Our details are on the leaders page.
